Porsche Taycan or Tesla Model S?
Now that the Porsche Taycan is here – it’s time to see how it stacks up against the legendary Tesla Model S. For my comparison, I decided to see how the range-topping Porsche Taycan Turbo S compares with the Tesla Model S Performance. Keep in mind, for charge times I had to dig around for the info and decided to see how the two stacks up against one another using a 50kW DC charger. For the Model S Performance, I was able to find it’s 20 to 80% charge time while the Taycan Turbo S I use Porsche’s quoted time of 5 to 80%. Porsche says that the Taycan Turbo S can charge from 5 to 80% in just 22.5 minutes using a 270 kW DC charger. Tesla’s claim to fame is that you can recharge up to 130 miles in 15 minutes at any of its 14,000+ Supercharger locations.
