The official presentation of the “charged” all-terrain vehicle BMW X6 M of the third incarnation with the internal labeling “F96” took place on October 2, 2019, during an online presentation, and it “came into being” only a few months after the release of the “civilian” model with the index “G06” .
Having changed the generation, the coupe-shaped crossover remained true to its form factor, but at the same time underwent significant metamorphoses – it “moved” to a new modular “truck”, prescribed a modernized (more powerful) engine under the hood and became noticeably more technological (although in terms of engineering it did not reach the passenger “emok”).

Under the hood of the third-generation BMW X6 M is an eight-cylinder 4.4-liter petrol engine with a V-shaped architecture, two twin-scroll turbochargers, direct fuel injection, lightweight pistons and phase shifters at the inlet and outlet, available in two boost options:

The normally “charged” crossover is equipped with an 8-band M Steptronic automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive M xDrive transmission with a multi-plate clutch transferring traction to the front axle, and an electronically controlled Active M active differential that redistributes the moment between the right and left rear wheels.

Design Features
Structurally, the “third” BMW X6 M repeats the standard “brother” in many respects – it is also based on the CLAR modular “trolley” with a supporting body and independent suspensions of both axles (two-lever front and multi-link rear).
Moreover, already in the “base”, the coupe-shaped SUV boasts a reinforced body, an adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers and more rigid rubber-metal joints, as well as an active rear stabilizer.
The car relies on the rack and pinion steering with an active electromechanical amplifier and a variable gear ratio. In addition, this crossover “flaunts” a powerful braking system: six-piston calipers and 395 mm ventilated discs are installed in front of it, and single-piston mechanisms and pancakes with 380 mm ventilation are installed at the rear. The list of options includes carbon-ceramic brakes.
