BMW M3 (2020)
A photo of the new BMW M3 2020. Despite the lack of a badge, what can be seen from the rear of the sedan leaves no doubt as to the identity of the model. We discover indeed a particularly muscular shield, with a black blade that surrounds the diffuser and seems to extend on the side skirts.
We can also notice the end spoiler carbon fiber, while the two dual exhaust outlets confirm the presence under the hood of a motor overflowing with power. Markus Flasch, BMW M boss, has also confirmed that the new M3 will resume the same six-cylinder twin-turbo 3.0 that SUV X3 and X4 M M. The power would then rise to 480 hp on the standard model and culminate at 510 hp on the Competition version. These two models, equipped with all-wheel drive, could be joined later by a propulsion variant a little less powerful, some already call “Pure”. BMW has not yet given a presentation date for this new M3, but it should take place in early 2020.
While the M340i xDrive version of the new 3 Series was presented at the Los Angeles show last November, BMW is already preparing a new M3, even more, sporty and powerful. And, although the Bavarian firm has not yet revealed anything about it, some members of the forum Bimmerpost, a priori very close to the brand, seem to already have some information.
M3 Pure and Competition
This new M3, whose production should start in the course of the year 2020, would decline in several versions and they would stand out not only by their power level. The first, which would be called “Pure” , would display 450 hp as the old M3 pack competition. It will be the least powerful, but also the lightest and most authentic in terms of sensations, thanks to its transmission to the only rear wheels and its manual gearbox.
The standard version for its part would have about 480 hp but would be equipped with an automatic transmission and a full transmission. However, it seems likely that the latter has a propulsion mode, as on the M5. Finally, at the top of the range, the Competition variant will offer more than 500 hp and will also have four-wheel drive and the car box. It could also stand out with carbon-ceramic brakes and larger diameter wheels, included in the standard equipment.
All versions, however, have limited-slip differential and adaptive suspension. The performance will of course increase compared to the old model and the Competition version should fall below 4 s. on the exercise from 0 to 100 km / h. To discover this new BMW M3, it will still be patient, since it should not be unveiled before the show in Frankfurt next September.
